Dopey Dog Gets A Spiffy New Coat

Ever seen those silly little tiny dogs and their goofy coats? Of course you have, we all have. Those spoiled pampered pets. But... what I bet you haven't seen... is a huge full grown Doberman wearing a silly sweater/coat.
As Diesel is originally from Georgia he still hasn't adapted well to the cold, and hates the snow. So now that the weather is getting chilly he gets awfully cold when he goes outside for even a little while. So my Mom decided that he needed a fleece coat to wear when he goes outside. *sigh* So off I go to JoAnn Fabrics to buy some fleece for his silly sweater/coat. Of course there were all manner of nice colours in the plaid... but Mom had to have red. Red plaid on a red doberman just doesn't seem to make any sense to me, but I digress.
He was a very good model and let me use a paper bag and some scissors to make a pattern for his spiffy new coat. Then I cut the pattern out in the red fleece and the black. I sewed the two layers of fleece together and then added some industrial strength velcro. (Which I now have to sew on because the 'it will stick to anything' wasn't exactly true.) And voila! A gigantic dog coat!

Ooo... Who's coming up the driveway?

I like my new coat... it's toasty!
