Taughannock Falls (May 18th)

For his Birthday Joe decided to kidnap me and take me to the Taughannock Falls... I've only ever been to the outlook... and didn't realize there was a whole park attached... even though I've driven by it a number of times on my way to college. lol. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The trees were blissfully green and the weather was fantastic, not too hot, not too cold. It was a wonderful day...

Chocolate Cake Part II

This time I made my chocolate cake with strawberry whipped cream filling and decorated it with chocolate covered strawberries... it was good... mmmm...

Close up of my decorating genius...

Yep... it was good... too bad you can't cut through the chocolate on the strawberries... oops... lol.

Tree Cat

Last Sunday Mom and I went up on the hill to deliver my Dad and Uncle lunch, as they were up in the back field getting firewood, while walking out to get them we heard a very loud and constant "meow"ing... This is when my Mom mentioned that the week before when they were up there they had heard a cat meowing and she was stuck up in a tree. THIS WAS OVER A WEEK AGO. So my Mom and I went over and saw this little black and white kitty stuck thirty feet up in this tree with no branches... so we coaxed her down intending to catch her in our hoodies... but she jumped down the other side of the tree, hit the tree bounced off and landed hard on the ground... she got up and ran over to us meowing... she was the skinniest thing I've ever seen... so we fed her some pizza and water. She was so sweet she won over even my mother and as we couldn't just leave her out there, she came home with us... I call her Lucky... Mom calls her dumb ass cat... and either way... we have a new outdoor kitty who is going to the vet tomorrow... she is such a sweetie...

Mini Vacation and Reunion

A quick trip to Geneseo to meet up with the ever lovely Brynn and Sarah. Dinner at GFR, cake at the Union, a walk around town, exploring the new Seneca Hall (lucky English majors) and a sandwich from my favorite place in Ithaca, the Shortstop Deli. lol. After that I followed Sarah to her house and spent a couple days with her. We went to mass, went bowling, shopping and to the falls. I had a great little mini vacation.

The Best Fish Fry Ever...

Apparently I've been obsessed with food lately. But I can't help it... so many wonderful places to eat...

On Friday Sarah, Chris and I went to The Beach House for what Sarah claimed was the 'best fish fry in western NY'... and she was right... and I would even go so far as to argue that it's the best in all of New York... it was delicious... It's amazing that the best food comes from the smallest places.

Tiny isn't it. lol.

MMMMM...

Just the right amount of breading and huge pieces of fish... Sarah and Chris said the Tuna melt and the Crab cakes were good too... but I think I made the right decision.

What I've been missing...

How did I spend four years at Geneseo and never eat the chocolate cake... omg... I didn't know what I was missing... It was soooooooooooo... delicious.

Mmmm...

My kitty is sooooo cute...

Isn't she adorable... silly sleepy kitty...

My Favorite Resturant Ever

Mama Giuseppa's

It's a tiny little place, but the food has big flavor

Penne ala Vodka... My favorite...

I love this place... it may be small... and annoyingly not open for lunch or on Monday and Tuesday... but the food there is so worth it. It has enormous portions and the best Vodka sauce I have ever tasted; and their Alfredo isn't too bad either. Joe claims they have the best pizza around... but I will have to go back again to test out that theory, as I couldn't resist my delicious Penne ala Vodka that I've been craving for months. But it gives me a reason to go back real soon, which suits me just fine. They also have excellent calzones, that are so big it was dinner, lunch, and dinner again. lol.

Mint Chocolate Cake

I would, under normal circumstances, share the recipe for this delicious cake with you all... but as I will probably make it again and would like you to try it without judging it by it's ingredient list... I will hold off on the sharing. It is a delicious recipe that a friend from school shared with me from a magazine she had with her in class, and believe it or not the chocolate cake is actually not that bad for you, as it is a healthy alternative... and is, surprisingly enough... delicious.

They kind of look like giant cupcakes sitting there...

Mmmm... mint whipped cream...

All filled... now where's the frosting?

YUMMY!!!

Cake complete.
